Neapolitan Summer Linens

There’s something wonderfully nostalgic about summer entertaining - tables layered beneath the trees, garden lunches that drift into evening, bowls of fruit catching the late afternoon light and the joyful gathering of family and friends around beautifully dressed tables.

Our new Neapolitan Summer Dining Collection was created with exactly these moments in mind. A subtle nod to the creative gatherings, indoor picnics and lives lived between cultivated gardens and grand country houses by the Bloomsbury Group.

An early morning start at the florists and there they were - towering blue delphiniums. Celebrated in House & Garden’s June issue as an ‘old-fashioned’ plant to love, we couldn’t resist pairing them with the Luna tablecloth and Peony Urn runner. Their vivid blue tones looked especially striking against the soft plaster-pink walls of the Italian garden pool house, creating a table full of colour and character.

Elsewhere, the Luna Turquoise tablecloth was styled beneath a beautiful walkway draped in white wisteria. The combination of green and white, layered with moody, shade-loving planting and green Moroccan ceramics, captured the feeling of an elegant midsummer lunch in the cooling shade, offering escape from the summer heat.

Finally, just before the rain set in, the Peony Urn Pastel tablecloth was nestled amongst expertly clipped architectural hedges. Abundant peonies in matching urns became the focal point within the structured greenery. At this time of year, when so many of us are eagerly waiting for our own peonies to bloom, it was a real treat to photograph them in full, fleeting beauty - especially as the garden's own corridor of peonies, was just about to burst into flower.
